Digital innovation through cloud technology comes to Renfe thanks to Amazon Web Services. This collaboration aims to work on digital initiatives for Renfe as a Service.
It is a digital tool that will offer a comprehensive mobility solution to all citizens, allowing trips to be planned from the moment the client leaves home until they arrive at their destination and to reserve all additional services.
The head of Southern Europe for AWS Public Sector Sales, Raffaele Resta, highlights that, thanks to this collaboration, the numerous services in the AWS cloud are already helping Renfe to improve agility, accelerate project development, increase efficiency of its processes and drive innovation focused on its customers.
Renfe as a service
The integral mobility platform in which Renfe works brings together:
- The channel layer (APP, Web portal, chatbot)
- Authentication and security systems
- API layer
- Complete cycle of devsecops
- Platform Backend
- Planning and routing services
- Customer services with a complete vision from the CRM based on Salesforce to the call attention system on Amazon Connect, the contact center service in the AWS cloud
Renfe signs an agreement with Amazon Web Services to accelerate its digital transformation
All of this is being developed on AWS, relying primarily on serverless technology such as AWS Lamba, an AWS cloud service that allows you to run code without the need to provision or manage AWS servers.
This type of technology allows Renfe to streamline developments, scale quickly based on customer demand and manage consumption in the most efficient way, reducing costs.
The collaboration between AWS and Renfe will also enable company employees to be trained in cloud technologies. The activities that will be carried out include seminars and workshops with the aim of promoting the digital skills of Renfe’s workforce, as well as supporting the company in the definition and implementation of best practices in its journey to the cloud.
