NTT opens its first data center in Spain

NTT continues with its expansion plans by opening its first data center in the Spanish market in Madrid. The high-availability and Tier 3 data center is located in the Európolis Business and Technology Park in Las Rozas, about 20 km northwest of Madrid. Offers to hyperscalers and to business customers 3,600 m2 of IT space and a maximum capacity of 6.3 MW once it is at maximum performance.

NTT is currently expanding the capacity of its data centers around the world. The company attaches the utmost importance to creating a safe and sustainable infrastructure. At the Madrid site, the entire data center cooling concept was adapted to the hot climate of central Spain: air-cooled chillers and higher cooling water temperatures reduce energy consumption and ensure efficient operation of installation. In addition, the demand of our first large customer is entirely powered by renewable energy.

On the other hand, companies using the new data center in Madrid will benefit from excellent connectivity. NTT’s proprietary Global Data Center Interconnect (GDCI) network structure makes it easy and fast to deploy high-performance private connections to Internet nodes such as ESpanix, NetIX and DE-CIX, as well as cloud providers such as AWS, Google , Microsoft and others. Through the Lyntia fiber network, there are connections with 2,694 cities in Spain, with interconnections in France and Portugal, and with the main submarine cables. In addition, there are fiber links to NTT’s Global IP Network (GIN), as well as Colt IQ, euNetworks, GTT and other international and regional providers.
