Colombia is getting ready for a historic day. This Sunday, March 13, the elections will be held to define the formation of the next Congress -Senate and Chamber-, and for the first time primary consultations will be held to elect the presidential candidates of the three great political coalitions: the Team for Colombia, the right wing alliance; the Hope Center Coalition; and the Historical Pact, from the left. Starting at 3:30 p.m. (local time), journalists Roberto Pombo and Vanessa de la Torre will lead the informative special, which will include a network of reporters who will be reporting up to the minute what is happening at the campaign headquarters and on the streets. of Colombia, which is facing the presidential election that will define the course of the country for the next four years, after a 2021 marked by protests and citizen weariness.
According to the National Registry, this Sunday 38 million Colombians are eligible to vote at 112,897 tables located throughout the territory. The national registrar, Alexander Vega Rocha, announced that this time 12,000 more tables will be installed, compared to last elections to guarantee that the inhabitants of towns with difficult access can exercise their right to vote. Citizens will elect 108 senators, 188 representatives to the chamber and three presidential candidates.
