The BBC has just confirmed who is chosen to succeed Jodie Whittaker as the protagonist of the longest-running English series on televisionand, for the first time, they wanted to have a black actor. Ncuti Gatwa (‘Sex Education’) will put himself in the shoes of the beloved Lord of Time.
Gatwa known for playing Eric Effiong in the aforementioned Netflix series, a role for which he won a BAFTA in the Best Actor category; he claims to feel honored, but at the same time he confesses to feeling a lot of respect for the task of playing one of the most iconic characters that science fiction has given us from the small screen.
