The star of ‘Black Panther’, Lupita Nyong’ohas apparently confirmed the return of a character in the highly anticipated sequel to Marvel in a series of photos he has taken during the filming of this second part, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda forever’.
During a break in filming for ‘Black Panther 2,’ Nyong’o shared several snapshots of the film’s cast members, and eagle-eyed fans spotted the presence of Danny Sapani, whose character had not been previously confirmed by Marvel to bring him back.
Nyong’o, who plays Nakia, posted the stills to celebrate Black Panther’s fourth anniversary as we look ahead to ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ which hits theaters later this year.
“Greetings from Wakanda!” published the actress. “Happy fourth anniversary of #BlackPanther”.

The photos featured Nyong’o posing alongside some of the characters we met in the first one: Angela Bassett (Ramonda), Letitia Wright (shuri), Winston Duke (M’Baku) besides Sapani. This seems to confirm the return of Sapani, who plays M’Kathu, the leader of the Wakanda border tribe, where M’Baku (Duke’s character) also hails from. The news comes after it was previously reported that M’Baku would have a larger role to play in the film’s sequel.
As in many other productions, the filming of ‘Black Panther 2’ has been affected by several delays in recent months due to the Covid-19 pandemic and an injury on set suffered by star Letitia Wright, which caused a stoppage in production. Fortunately, the film will finish shooting this February ahead of its planned November release date.
The sequel will also pay tribute to Chadwick Bosemanwho played King T’Challa of Wakanda in the MCU, after his sad death in August 2020.
Bassett previously said: “Everyone felt, the first week of shooting, Chadwick’s presence and missing him on that throne.“.
“But we all got together and paid tribute to him before we started, which was wonderful…everyone spoke beautiful words about him and expressed how much we care and how he informed and inspired us.“.
There aren’t many details on how Marvel will address T’Challa’s absence in the sequel, but studio execs have confirmed that they will not digitally recreate the character, nor will they change the role. “There’s only one Chadwick and he’s not with us.“said the executive vice president of Marvel Studios, Victor Alonsoin November 2020.
“Our king has sadly died in real life, not just in fiction, and we are taking a little time to see how we go back into history and what we do to honor this chapter of what has happened to us that was so unexpected. . so painful, so terrible, really“.
