Season 6 of ‘Peaky Blinders’ has added Stephen Grahamfrom ‘Line of Duty’, as a new character, and now the creator of the show, Steven Knight, has shed a little more light on his mysterious role. Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Knight said: “I always wanted him to [Graham] it was him A character was beginning to develop on the Liverpool docks. And you just think, well, there can’t be anyone else for this character.”
“So it’s someone facing Tommy who isn’t really an enemy.”. We know from a sneak peek released by the BBC that Graham is playing “Scouser” (someone who comes from Liverpool), and in the clip, he says: “I heard there are some people from Liverpool looking for me.”

Meanwhile, the full trailer shows the actor getting beaten up by a gang member wearing a flat cap. So while his character might not be an enemy of the Peakys, there is certainly some conflict involved., At least in the beginning. Knight has previously spoken about wanting to add Graham to the cast. At one point, fans speculated whether he would play Al Capone, after seeing him as the notorious gangster in ‘Boardwalk Empire’.
The pair had previously worked together on the BBC series ‘Taboo’, with Tom Hardybut in ‘Obsessed With Peaky Blinders,’ Knight previously ruled out Graham from playing Al Capone. He said: “It wasn’t Al Capone, because he didn’t want to go west. In the end, it’s a minefield once you get into the Chicago gangsters. (…) I didn’t want to get into that.”
Knight has also spoken about whether the show’s main brothers, Tommy and Arthur, will appear in the final film, while the rest of the cast has spoken about their interest in future spin-offs of the saga.
The new episodes are scheduled to premiere later this year, so while fans wait patiently, Rolling Stone magazine has been able to obtain some exclusive details from the protagonist: “I think it’s going to be very intense. The word we keep using is ‘goth’,” said the Irishman. “Yes, it will be very strong!”. Far from the crosses, the garlic and the castles, ‘Peaky Blinders’ has a definitely gothic atmosphere, which we hope to develop in this sixth and final season. What will happen to trigger it?
As we saw in the ‘Peaky Blinders’ season 5 finale, Tommy Shelby is about to freak out, still dealing with post-traumatic stress from the war and grief over the death of his wife. To all this, we must add the headaches generated by the company’s business and his new activity as a parliamentarian in the House of Commons in London.
Come on, we expect great things from Mr. Graham, but Mr. Shelby is not going to be far behind.
