Ilan Musk intends to make the “Tesla robot” more than just a humanoid robot that can perform tasks. According to him, apparently we should wait for a kind of robot that has its own unique personality and can be introduced as a companion to humans.
Mask appeared on the Lex Friedman podcast to explain more about the Tesla Butt. According to him, apparently the Tesla robot could be like the famous robots of the “Star Wars” movie series, like C3PO or R2D2, and accompany humans in all situations. He also pointed out that this robot can create a unique character over time, and more importantly, not all robots will be the same.
Musk also explained to Friedman in an interview that Tesla will probably launch a prototype of its robot by the end of 2022. He explained in this podcast:
Although this is not exactly in line with Tesla’s core mission instructions to accelerate the spread of renewable energy, building a humanoid robot capable of interacting with the environment and helping humans in a variety of ways is crucial to the world.
Musk has repeatedly stated that the primary goal of the company’s robot will be to reduce repetitive stressful tasks for humans. Musk has also pointed to future labor shortages in the past, claiming that the problem can be solved by robots such as the Tesla Bot.
Earlier this year, Tesla’s CEO unveiled a replica of the Tesla Bot humanoid robot during AI Day, claiming at the time that the device would be available in 2022. On the other hand, companies such as Hanson Robotics and Boston Dynamics have worked in this field for decades or have invested in it Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung and dozens of other technology giants.
