Rob Zombie’s ‘The Monster Family’: First Look at Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) as Barbara Carr

Rob Zombie continues to prepare the film reboot of ‘The Monster Family’, the classic series starring Frankenstein’s monster and his terrifying family. As we already know, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Sheri Moon Zombie and Dan Roebuck lead the cast as Herman Munster, Lily Munster and Grandpa Munster.

Now we get our first look at one of the big surprises in the movie’s cast. Cassandra Peterson, known as the horror icon Elvira, queen of darkness, becomes Barbara Carr, “the number 1 real estate agent in all of Mockingbird Heights”, as described by the director. Peterson is unrecognizable in this pink look with perfectly wavy hair.

Although Rob Zombie has accustomed us to a type of terror not suitable for all audiences, On this occasion, the director of ‘The Lords of Salem’ wants to try his luck in family territory. “For those of you who are speculating, imagining and assuming that ‘The Monster Family’ will be dirty, violent and disgusting… Well, you’re wrong. It’s all good in Mockingbird Lane” Zombie recently explained on his Instagram. The film does not yet have a release date.

What happened to Cassandra Peterson?

Cassandra Peterson grabbed headlines last year because she released ‘Yours Cruelly, Elvira’, her memoir, in which she reviews her legacy as Elvira and the ‘Fright Night’ show she hosted, and also about his private life, opening up about the sexual assault he suffered at the hands of basketball player Wilt Chamberlain, and revealing that he has been in a relationship with his coach, Teresa Wierson, for almost 20 years. She explains that she didn’t say it before her for fear that her fans would disown her or that it would affect her career, but she assures that she has never felt so loved. Peterson has never abandoned Elvira. Last year she starred in a series of videos for Netflix, reviewing the horror titles in the platform’s catalog.
