The characteristics of Alicante have stimulated the implantation of large companies, both technological and consulting, which, although it has allowed the creation of jobs in the IT environment, have only been for the development or provision of routine services.
However, Orizon has chosen the city to expand the capacity of its technology center and provide services based on its own technology, with an investment of around €5M by 2024, and create at least 50 jobs for professionals.
“We are going to develop specialized talent and turn Alicante into an international benchmark by creating a group of experts on performance, just as we conceive it, which is a unique concept in the world”, explains Ángel Pineda, CEO of Orizon.

Apart from state-of-the-art social benefits and a salary index 15% higher than the industry average, Orizon will add 5% to its annual recurring investment in R&D for the training and professional development of its work team.
Collaboration with the University
Within this strategy, Orizon wants to strengthen its relationship with the University of Alicante (UA) that dates back to 2017 with the delivery of training talks to Computer Engineering students.
In 2018, it signed a professional internship agreement and in 2019, coinciding with its link to the Alicante Science Park, it established a collaboration framework agreement, within which it participates in courses and seminars, in addition to contributing to research projects in the area of science. new technologies.
According to Amparo Navarro, rector of the UA and president of the Alicante Science Park Foundation, “our relationship with Orizon is excellent and is open to new innovative collaboration formulas”.
