In just a few years, technology has changed our way of understanding the world, of communicating and relating to each other. Among many other things, digitization has allowed citizens to streamline procedures with the administration, which are often cumbersome and annoying. In this process, the electronic certificate plays a fundamental role. It is a digital signature that the user installs in the browser to guarantee his identity on the Internet and that allows him to carry out procedures from the computer, mobile device or tablet before any public body that admits this rubric: Tax Agency, Social Security, SEPE, Civil Registry, town halls, hospitals, DGT…
Thanks to this certificate, the citizen can identify himself electronically with total security and sign or encrypt electronic documents in a matter of seconds, without having to travel or fill out unnecessary paperwork. In other words, it ensures that no one impersonates another person by forging their signature on a document. on-line.
It was about serving, digitizing, streamlining and democratizing the process of obtaining the digital certificate both for the emptied Spain and for the Spain that lacked time to carry out these procedures.

Today, especially as a result of the pandemic caused by covid-19, having this certificate is almost essential. The 24th edition of the study Web surfers –the survey of Internet Users by the Association for Media Research (AIMC)– reveals that the use of electronic signatures has skyrocketed in the last year: seven out of ten respondents use this resource compared to 25.3 % of 2021.
But there is a problem: the process to download and install this file of software it is slow and, for many people, too complicated. The first step to start the procedure requires registering on the website of the National Currency and Stamp Factory (FNMT), where the user obtains a code that must be validated in person at a public administration registration point. This forces you to move, with the consequent loss of time that comes from approaching that place. In addition, it is not always so easy to complete this process. Many inhabitants of rural towns, generally older people, must travel kilometers to reach some of these venues. The same happens with people who are hospitalized, sick or who live in other countries, far from their homes.
To resolve this situation, the firm specializing in digital identity Bewor Tech SL has launched the webcertificateelectronic.es. Through it, any user can access and download their digital certificate without leaving home, 100% on-line and in just half an hour. “The confinement showed that bureaucracy no longer had a place in our lives and that processes had to become 100% digital,” acknowledges the co-founder of Bewor Tech, Francisco Moya. New legislation regulating remote video identification methods helped this trusted service provider develop their idea. “It was about serving, digitizing, streamlining and democratizing the process of obtaining the digital certificate both for the emptied Spain and for the Spain that lacked time to carry out these procedures,” says Moya.
Fast and legally valid
In fact, the document issued has exactly the same validity as the certificate issued by the FNMT to access any public administration or sign a PDF document digitally. The main difference is that, now, it is no longer necessary to request an appointment or travel to complete the process.
The steps are very simple. After registering atcertificateelectronico.es through the web or the apps, the user must show his face to the webcam and then show the camera his ID or passport on both sides. An authorized person is responsible for reviewing all this information. Once the data has been verified, it sends its certificate to the citizen’s email in a process verified by SMS message. Throughout the process, the client has a help service, in which a specialist is responsible for resolving any questions, from Monday to Sunday.
After downloading the digital certificate for just 14.95 euros, the user can access more than a thousand electronic offices from a single platform and complete dozens of procedures in Spain and in the rest of the EU: from registrations, appointments with the Tax Agency, reports of working life, maternity and paternity benefits, European health card, payment of traffic fines, request for unemployment and renewal of unemployment, marriage certificates and birth certificates, modification of cadastre data…
At all times, user safety is guaranteed when carrying out administrative procedures. Bewor Tech SL is a company accredited by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation as a provider of qualified trusted electronic services. Since the publication of Order ETD 465/2021 of May 6, which regulates remote video identification methods for the issuance of these digital certificates, this company is one of the few entities in Spain that have obtained authorization to carry carry out this process. In fact, it is the first time that a unique platform of these characteristics has been created in our country.
