The application and development of new technologies focused on the industrial sector focus on improving productivity and minimizing environmental impact. This reconversion requires specialized profiles capable of facing the new challenges of the economy.

And it is that, With a figure of €600,000M, Spain is the fourth country in the EU with the highest turnover in the industrial sector. Precisely these fields are addressed in the Master in Industry 4.0 of the MINT training school.

“The industrial fabric is the basic support of the economy. The main industrial fields of the future are those related to new technologies such as: Internet of Things, Robotics, Cloud Computing, Advanced Automation, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Data Management, and others”, explains Fran Bellas, supervisor AI training at the Mint training school.

Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution, characterized by the digitization and automation of processes. In this sense, it should be noted that, contrary to what one might think, according to the recent study carried out by the consulting firm PwC “Keys and strategic investments for a Spain 5.0”, this new industrial model, far from eliminating jobs, will need to incorporate 220,000 new tech workers by 2030.

In the opinion of the experts, the reconversion of the industrial fabric of the country is key to making a sector less volatile and less dependent on tourism and that guarantees services and basic supplies in changing times. For this, it is necessary to have the ability to develop new methods and techniques that allow us to leave behind the previous model.

Professional upskilling is presented as the horizon to follow if we want to operate successfully in this new industrial stage. This specialization and digitization of the workforce could produce an increase in wealth equivalent to 6.7% of GDP in 2030.

Knowledge of Industry 4.0 in which we currently find ourselves is essential in the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques: autonomous mobile robotics and handling, internet of things, machine learning and computer vision. Field areas that provide future projection for the development of a new digital environment.

Along the same lines, it is just as important to automate processes so that production times are streamlined and the design and production of different models is simpler and more precise. An industry with lean production is a more productive industry that generates more profits.
