The Huawei Connect 2022, held in Paris, has opened its second day with the announcement of an investment of €150M and the creation of 200 new jobs, thanks to the future opening of a European cloud center in Dublin.
The center will serve clients across the continent and help ambitious Irish businesses expand into new global markets by providing a secure, compatible, innovative and sustainable cloud platform for growth and development.
On this, Tony Yangxu, CEO of Huawei Ireland has stated that, “we see Ireland as a strategically important place for the global deployment of Huawei Cloud. The new offering will be based on stable, reliable, secure, compatible, innovative and sustainable cloud services tailored to meet the needs of various Irish and European customers.”
Cloud for SMEs
Huawei Cloud will align with Huawei’s existing functions in Ireland, supporting the digitization of SMEs and start-ups in partnership with industry partners and state agencies, including IDA Ireland.

It will provide clients with resources such as cloud credits, technical support and access to international venture capital networks to help accelerate digitization and support expansion in Asian and global markets, as well as make it easier for Asian and Chinese companies to increase investment in Ireland.

On the second day of the event, Joy Huang, President of Huawei Cloud Strategy and Industry Development, delivered a keynote speech with the theme “Huawei Cloud: Unleash Digital with Everything as a Service”, focusing on how the company’s cloud continues its path towards a green, innovative and secure digital future in the European framework.
