Fujitsu announced the launch of Fujitsu Computing as a Service (CaaS) to accelerate digital transformation and empower customers by offering cloud access to a range of advanced business computing solutions.
public cloud
The new service, in particular, will include access to the Fujitsu Digital Annealer quantum simulator, Fujitsu Cloud Service HPC, as well as software solutions for artificial intelligence and machine learning. Fujitsu will begin to provide new services in Japan from October 2022. Afterwards, they will be available in other regions, including Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.
The company began accepting pre-orders for the Fujitsu Cloud Service HPC cloud service. It uses PRIMEHPC FX1000 nodes based on Arm Fujitsu A64FX processors (48 cores + 32 GB HBM2 with 1 TB/s memory bandwidth), which power the world’s fastest Fugaku supercomputer.
PRIMEHPC FX1000 can connect up to 384 nodes using the proprietary Tofu D interconnect. In the coming months, Fujitsu will add access to Digital Annealer and cloud AI services. According to Vivek Mahajan, CTO of Fujitsu Limited, CaaS will provide customers with seamless access to public cloud services to meet rapidly growing computing needs using Fujitsu’s advanced computing technologies.
In the future, the company plans to further expand its portfolio by accessing technologies such as quantum computing. Fujitsu expects CaaS to help solve social problems and a variety of problems in a wide range of industries, including finance, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, disaster prevention (including earthquake and tsunami forecasting), biology, and medicine (drug development). and gene therapy). The new platform will be part of Fujitsu UVANCE.
About Fujitsu UVANCE
It is a new global commercial brand, presented in October of last year 2021, which offers a portfolio of solutions aimed at creating a sustainable world and solving social problems through digital innovation. As part of it, it is planned to offer technologies and systems in seven key areas: sustainable production, consumer experience, healthy lifestyle (in every sense), trustworthy society, as well as digital transformation, business applications and hybrid information technologies.

The first four areas are large vertical cross-industry business segments, aimed at solving pressing problems. The remaining three are horizontal platforms that will form the base of the first four. Fujitsu is said to be able to offer a unique perspective on how to drive innovation to improve the world and people’s lives in general.
The pandemic has not only changed the whole world, but also more clearly emphasized the problems that the company proposes to solve with the help of modern technologies. To emphasize the importance of the new brand, the company changed the name of the Fujitsu Kawasaki Tower in Japan to Fujitsu Uvance Kawasaki.
The complex will become a “living” laboratory that will clearly demonstrate the real potential of new technologies: biometrics, image analysis, etc. They are expected to play a role in the company’s seven key areas of activity.
