The war in Ukraine has not only claimed deadly lives, but has also triggered cyber-attacks. There has even been talk of a computer debacle like the one caused by WannaCry five years ago.
In this context, LiceoTIC has presented the study on information security, which provides significant data on the level of ICT security of Spanish companies, as well as the type of solutions they use.
“Just as in a company the definition and application of an occupational risk prevention plan, or the fact of having fire forecasting systems is an obligation, having adequate cybersecurity systems should be equally so since nowadays the cybersecurity puts the continuity of the organization at risk” say the LiceoTIC experts.
Attacks and lack of solutions
Among the notable data provided by the study is the fact that practically the vast majority of companies (70%) do not have a SIEM tool.
It is a technology capable of quickly detecting, responding and neutralizing computer threats. In the same way, another of the actions that are very effective and that, however, more than half of the companies surveyed do not have is the white list.
The war in Ukraine triggers cyber attacks, and 70% of companies do not have a solution that detects and neutralizes computer threats
Thanks to this system, the programs that can work on the computer are chosen to prevent malicious software from being activated. Also significant is the fact that 43% do not have an intrusion prevention system tool.
The most generalized tools: Firewall, VPN or Backup
As far as better known tools are concerned, the report ratifies their generalization. For example, 86% have a disaster recovery plan, 96% have an antivirus tool, 86% have antimalware, and 100% have a Firewall. VPN tools are also very widespread (100%), as well as Backup.
