Barack Obama will be present at DES2022

The interest aroused by this edition of DES2022, which will be held in the city of Malaga from June 14 to 16, is unprecedented. It is an event in which companies will learn about the keys to digitization and which has now managed to put the icing on the cake by having the presence of former US President, Barack Obama, who will offer a conversation with the intention of inspiring and motivating general directors, CEO’S and high positions of recognized international companies so that they can face the economic, social and technological challenges that have recently broken into our system.

Apart from this outstanding participation, in DES2022 they can presume that the previous days go smoothly since the presence of more than 12,000 congressmen is expected. Under the slogan “Reimagine Business”, more than 500 experts from around the world will share at the Digital Business World Congress, the leading congress on digital transformation that takes place within the framework of DES2022, their strategies, knowledge and success stories of application of technology to different sectors. In total, there will be more than 250 hours of presentations in a content agenda that is completed with six vertical forums focused on different industries (industry 5.0, retail and logistics, health, smart cities, banking, and tourism and hospitality) and agendas focused on each professional profile (CEOs, CIOs, CMOs, CDOs, CFOs and Human Resources).

DES – Digital Enterprise Show has established itself as one of the most important ICT fairs on the Spanish scene. Last year’s edition was a success for both visitors and exhibitors and lecturers in a complicated environment due to the pandemic. This year, with Covid under control, the data from the previous edition is expected to be exceeded. Likewise, Jesús Hernández Galán, director of Accessibility and Innovation at the ONCE Foundation, will analyze how technology can help people with disabilities to increase their autonomy. Other confirmed experts who will share their vision and experience are Andy Stalman, CEO of Totem Branding; Andrea Bonime-Blanc, CEO of GEC Risk Advisory; Eva Snijders, CEO of Genetikomm; Marc Vidal, founder of AllRework; Christophe Trappe, Content Strategy at Voxpopme; and Paulina Tenner, founder of GrantTree.

An incomparable setting

DES2022 will leave its traditional setting in Madrid this year to move to the Andalusian city of Malaga. The bet has gone well and it is that Malaga has become a pole of attraction for large international companies that are committed to innovation and digitization. The strategic location of the city, its cultural heritage and its support for emerging business talent have been some of the factors that have led to Malaga becoming a benchmark hub for technological innovation in southern Europe. Thus, with the celebration of DES2022, the city reaffirms the internationalization and modernization strategy that is turning the south of Spain into an optimal point for investors from all over the world to promote job creation in the ICT sector and the development of a model economy based on innovation and talent.

The reason for this transfer is that, as Albert Planas, general director of NEBEXT, the event’s organizing company, has stated, “the Malaga City Council and the Andalusian Government have been working for years to turn the city into an international technology hub through different initiatives. In addition, there are more and more centers of innovation or technological excellence of international reference that decide to move their facilities to said city”. In this way, attendees are not only expected to learn about the latest advances that are taking place in the field of digital transformation, but they will also find themselves in an incomparable setting such as that of the capital of the Costa del Sol.

Both the City Council and the Junta de Andalucía have been working for a whole year to make DES2022 a success.
