Created in 2016 in Vigo, Netun Solutions is the 100% Spanish capital company that manufactures Help Flash, the first V16 light beacon on the market and a leader in vehicle signaling in the event of an incident with more than 1.5 million units sold.
The challenge and the solution
In March 2021, a new regulation was approved by means of Royal Decree that introduces in the legal system the pre-signalling light devices V-16 connected. These are beacons with the same specifications as the previous ones, but with an autonomous connectivity system that allows, after activation, to send the geolocation, completely anonymously, to the General Directorate of Traffic.
To meet these new specifications Netun has been developing a new beacon model, Help Flash IoT. This system implies having, in addition to the signaling device itself, a technological infrastructure that provides a solution to the functionalities demanded by the administration.

For this purpose, the company opted for Amazon Web Services because, in the words of its CIO, “it is a reliable, robust and scalable solution that meets the company’s growth needs and allows agile provisioning of the infrastructure, adapting to our business based on the volume and our requirements at all times”.
The choice of AWS as a cloud infrastructure platform was based on 3 essential pillars:
- Centralization: The wide range of products offered by AWS allows for a unified solution to all project needs from a single platform, thus facilitating its management and creating synergies between the different modules developed.
- Effectiveness: The SaaS range offered by AWS allows you to generate business processes in an agile and simple way. Managing queues (SQS) or containers (ECS) become trivial tasks, allowing the team to focus on the content and not the packaging.
- Adaptability: the scalability of the products offered by AWS allows them to adapt flexibly to the workload and also adapt to the ROI of a hardware/software product whose life cycle evolves.
As a leader in this segment, Netun not only aspires to have the leadership in market share in the Spanish territory, which has more than 36 million vehicles, but also has a clear international vocation. This means being prepared to work with a large amount of information in an efficient, stable and secure manner.
To do this, relying on the cloud, it will promote new initiatives linked to road safety for both private users and professionals and companies.
