‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ and ‘Shazam: Fury of the Gods’ show their first trailers at CinemaCon

Warner Bros. and DC have released the heavy artillery at CinemaCon with the presentation of a scene from ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ and the new trailer for ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’. They have also shown the logos of these two films along with those of ‘Black Adam’ and ‘DC League of Superpets’ in the form of a promotional poster.
The sequel to ‘Aquaman’, directed by James Wan, will bring back Jason Momoa as the aquatic superhero that we saw in the first installment and in ‘Justice League’. Both were in the presentation, although Momoa did not appear physically. Wan, for his part, highlighted during the event the technical complexity of the film. “It’s liberating to be able to do things that I’ve never been able to do before, and that’s exciting,” comments the director (via ComicBook).

What has been shown from the film along with a behind-the-scenes video has been described by ComicBook:
“Arthur, in his orange armor, stands in a stormy sea. Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) has a crew on a giant submarine. He is still human, but possesses ancient magical power. Arthur and Orm (Patrick Wilson) they have to collaborate. We see them walking through a forest. The teaser ends with Orm facing a giant octopus-shaped robot.”
What about the ‘Shazam 2’ trailer?
For its part, the trailer for ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’, directed by David F. Sandberg, shows us some fragments of the sequel to ‘Shazam!’ of 2019. Billy, played by Zachary Levi, is on a date with Wonder Woman (not played by Gal Gadot) in Paris. As he prepares to kiss her, he realizes that Wonder Woman is now the old man who gave him her powers in the first installment. All was a dream.
Later, he is with the character of Helen Mirren, who will be the new villain alongside Lucy Liu. Billy tells him that he has seen all the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies. From them, he has drawn the conclusion that the family is the most important thing when it comes to saving the world, alluding to the character of Vin Diesel in the saga and his commitment to the family. Later, Shazam and his friends battle a blue-eyed dragon (via ComicBook).
‘Aquaman 2’ had to delay its premiere until March 17, 2023. ‘Shazam 2’, for its part, will arrive on December 16, 2022.
