Aptera Motors has unveiled its new electric car that does not need to be charged thanks to solar panels. The tricycle is powered by solar panels, and according to the manufacturer, the most expensive model with a 100 kWh battery will be able to cover a distance of 1609 km on a single full charge and will be charged during parking.
The roof of this two-seater car has solar panels that can provide the necessary energy for a maximum distance of 72 km per day. The co-founder of Optra says that this car does not need to be charged:
“Thanks to Never Charge technology, energy is provided by sunlight. Solar panels fully charge the car battery throughout the day to go wherever you want. “Never Charge technology is installed on all Opera cars and is designed to provide the energy needed to collect 11,000 miles (approximately 17,000 kilometers) a year in most parts of the world by collecting sunlight.”
The car coefficient of the car in question is only 0.13 thanks to its special design and light weight, which leads to less energy consumption and less friction with the air. For comparison, the ratio of Tesla Model 3 and Volkswagen ID4 is 0.23 and 0.28, respectively.
Acceleration from zero to 96 km / h on the front differential and all-wheel drive is 5.5 and 3.5 seconds, respectively. The pre-sale of the Paradigm and Paradigm Plus models has already started and varies between $ 27,000 and $ 46,000 or more, depending on the amount of customization, and will be available in 2021.
