Finnish researchers have recently developed a nasal spray to provide more protection against the corona virus and its various strains, including Amicron. Studies on this method have shown that nasal sprays can prevent the body from becoming infected with the virus for up to eight hours after use.
Scientists at the University of Helsinki claim that the spray has a different approach to other methods of fighting the coronavirus.
“Preventive use of this spray to protect against the coronavirus is recommended for everyone,” said study co-author Kella Saxela. However, we must keep in mind that this spray is not a substitute for vaccines and is the only supplement that is used to provide more protection. People who are in high-risk situations, as well as people with underlying diseases – such as those with suppressed immune systems due to various diseases – can use this spray with confidence.
Corona nasal spray compared to vaccine
Vaccines work by training the immune system to detect germs without causing disease. In this case, vaccines allow us to use natural sources of antibodies and immune cells that are specifically designed to fight germs if we see germs. Our bodies are also able to mass-produce antibodies against the coronavirus. However, a synthetic protein that is much smaller than an antibody can attach to the virus in the body and detect it as a harmful agent in the body. To increase the strength of this protein, all three of them are combined in a single package. This molecule can actively inhibit any virus that enters the body to make contact with cells, at least for a short time. When these molecules are sent through the nose to the lungs – where the coronavirus infection begins – they can provide significant protection for the upper respiratory tract.
Because species of the corona virus have the same basic structure, nasal sprays can be effective on all of these species, even the amicron strain. This is due to the structure of the spray effect in the upper respiratory tract, and is independent of the mutations that the corona virus encounters, or at least has been.
Finally, it should be noted that Corona nasal spray is not a substitute for vaccines or prescription drugs and can only play a protective role for several hours in high-risk environments.
