InterSystems takes the Data Fabric to the next level

InterSystems has announced a series of releases related to the InterSystems IRIS data platform. Additionally, the company has recently announced new customers and deals as it moves to take the data fabric to the next level. According to Gartner, “by 2024, data fabric deployments will quadruple data utilization efficiency while halving human-driven data management tasks,” (Gartner, Top Strategic Technology Trends for 2022: Data Fabric, October 2021).

InterSystems IRIS makes it possible for companies to adopt a microservices-based architecture, without the typical problems associated with microservices in data-intensive applications. By adopting a unified data platform, rather than dozens of individual services, you avoid the challenge of building a data fabric from scratch, including the time and risk of integration, architecture maintenance, the high costs of maintaining multiple services of overlapping infrastructure and the complexity associated with data duplication.

Recent releases of InterSystems IRIS include new capabilities and enhancements that speed and simplify the creation of Smart Data Fabric architectures, including Embedded Python and IntegratedML, making it easier for analysts and data scientists to collaborate. Data analysts running BI can develop measures, dimensions, and labels tailored to business needs, and data scientists running AI can use them right out of the box. On the other hand, ML models, created by data scientists, are available directly to analysts for use in dashboards, reports, and applications. This functionality connects AI and BI without the need to move data, streamlining operations and delivering real-time insights to the business.

Recent releases of InterSystems IRIS include new capabilities and enhancements that speed and simplify the creation of Smart Data Fabric architectures.

Additionally, enhancements have been made to Adaptive Analytics, which offers self-service capabilities, allowing business users to freely explore data, make ad hoc queries, and drill down on initial findings with additional queries. Additionally, performance and scalability have been improved to handle high-performance transactional analytics use cases.

When integrated into the data fabric, these analytics capabilities put ‘intelligent’ in the next-generation ‘Smart Data Fabric’ architectural approach advocated by InterSystems. In doing so, business users and data scientists alike benefit from a wide range of built-in analytics capabilities, including data exploration, business intelligence, natural language processing, and machine learning.

InterSystems has announced a partnership with Collibra, a data intelligence platform built for governance, quality, and privacy. Integration between the two platforms allows companies to take advantage of these expanded capabilities on data that resides anywhere in the organization.

Additionally, InterSystems has incorporated enhancements to InterSystems Kubernetes Operator (IKO) to make it easier to scale and manage data-intensive applications on Kubernetes.

InterSystems IRIS and InterSystems IRIS for Health are available as managed cloud services, as well as a variety of intelligent cloud data services, including InterSystems FHIR Transformation Services and InterSystems FHIR Server.

InterSystems is also celebrating a number of new customer wins, including UST and Harris Associates, demonstrating the continued appeal of InterSystems IRIS among key industries such as financial services and supply chain.
