At this afternoon’s event, it presented two phones with a 6.1-inch panel – the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro – and two others with a 6.7-inch panel – the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the new iPhone 14 Plus—. The company has thus resurrected the “Plus” surname of its smartphones.

Both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are equipped with two 12-megapixel cameras “with a larger sensor and larger pixels.” The Cupertino company promises better results in low-light environments. Both phones also support satellite connection. Something that allows users to send emergency messages when they do not have coverage. This feature will only be available in the US and Canada. Both terminals have the A15 chip and 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB of storage.

The main high-end mobile phones of the competition incorporate refresh rates that reach 120 Hz. This parameter refers to the number of times the screen is updated per second. Therefore, the higher it is, the smoother the user experience. The Cupertino company took a long time to bring the 120 Hz refresh rate to some of its phones. Last year, it was incorporated into the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, but the less ambitious models stayed at 60 Hz. This year both the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus still do not incorporate 120 Hz, a difficult decision to justify by the apple company.

The design of the new iPhone is quite similar to that of its predecessors. Although Apple is usually quite conservative in this section, the most important change comes to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. In both the notch disappears. The technology company has opted for a pill-shaped hole that houses the front camera and the key components of Face ID, the facial recognition system of its mobiles. Apple’s goal is to integrate this notch into the phone’s notifications. Three new Apple Watches

The Apple Watch is the world’s best-selling smartwatch, according to Statista. The brand’s latest bet to continue conquering the sector is the Apple Watch Series 8. “It keeps you connected to the things that matter most to you, encourages you to be active and monitors your health,” said Cook. Its main novelty is that it launches a body temperature sensor that, according to Apple, will serve to monitor menstrual cycles and provide information on ovulation. The watch aims to warn the user of possible deviations in the cycle, for example, of prolonged periods and other alterations that may be a sign of a health problem.

Smart watches, in combination with remote consultations, have the potential to reduce in-person visits to medical centers or hospitals, according to the report The future of devices by GSMA Intelligence (the research division of the GSMA, the association of telecommunications operators). The Apple Watch Series 8 also incorporates a function to detect possible shocks. If it detects an accident, the watch can directly contact the emergency services. It is a watch with a more resistant 49-millimeter case, which has “the most accurate GPS” of any smart watch and is designed for the most athletic: from “the most demanding athletes”, says the company, to those who practice ocean sports. Apple claims that the watch can detect the depth and indicate the temperature of the water.

The smartwatch, which promises to record multiple metrics, boasts the largest battery the company has ever released. Supposedly, it has an autonomy of 36 hours that extends up to 60 hours with the low consumption mode. The watch will be available from September 23 for 999 euros. In addition to the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra, the company has also introduced a new Apple Watch SE. Its most affordable watch, whose price starts at 299 euros and will be available from September 16, includes a heart sensor and is also capable of detecting falls and possible traffic bumps.

Airpods Pro

The technology giant has also unveiled the AirPods Pro, which cost 299 euros, can be booked from September 9 and will be available from the 23rd. These headphones, according to Cook, “have become essential for many people, either listening to music while running or watching your favorite movie”. Some rumors indicated that these wireless headphones could detect heart rate and body temperature inside the ear and work as a hearing aid. But they have not been fulfilled.

AirPods Pro, powered by the H2 chip, deliver more detail and clarity across a wider range of sound. Apple claims to have improved spatial audio and noise cancellation. In theory, they are capable of eliminating twice as much noise as their predecessors. The charging case has a speaker that can play sounds and extends the autonomy of the headphones – which is six hours – up to 30 hours.
