Tesla is known for surprising its customers with interesting software updates. The fledgling automaker has recently added a weird and advanced feature to its products with another update. This feature monitors the condition of the car tire and notifies the owner if it needs to be replaced. Of course, this feature has not been officially unveiled yet and one of the users found out about it by accident after receiving the update.
According to this user, Tesla’s new feature continuously evaluates the amount of wear and depth of the treads. Interestingly, Tesla’s advanced capability can even detect irregular tire wear.
You’ll probably wonder what mechanism Tesla’s interesting feature works with. The answer to this question is not yet clear, but it is possible that Tesla systems use tire speed to detect the depth of its tread.
As you probably know, the dimensions of a tire gradually become smaller as the treads are worn and removed. This increases the rotation speed of the tire. Now, by comparing this parameter with the default value, we can evaluate the condition of the tire tread.
By extracting this parameter for each of the four wheels and comparing the obtained figures with each other, their wear condition relative to each other is also determined. In other words, if one of the tires spins faster than the others, it becomes clear that the wear rate is higher than the others.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. It has also not been announced when the new Tesla update will be officially released for the products of this American company. This is expected to happen in the next few weeks or finally a few months.
