Throughout the production process, manufacturers generate an incredible amount of data. In most cases, data is underutilized, due to its diversity and lack of standardization and uptime.
In relation to this, Groupe Renault and Atos have launched ID@scale (Industrial Data at Scale), a new industrial data collection service to support manufacturing companies in their digital journey towards Industry 4.0.
“By joining forces, Atos and Groupe Renault will enable organizations to efficiently collect data from their plants to harness insights at scale and successfully scale and accelerate their digital transformation of manufacturing,” said Rakesh Khanna, Director of Digitalisation. of Athos.
ID@scale, data collection
With the implementation of ID@S, manufacturers will now be able to collect data from a wide range of industrial equipment in a standardized and efficient way, and then contextualize it and make it available in the cloud.
In this way, the data corrects and extends the production processes and the quality of the products with immediate effect. Easy access to standardized data through simple dashboards and analytical tools makes it easy and fast to deploy many types of use cases (production, maintenance, quality and energies, etc.), including net-zero benefits.
In addition, with ID@scale, manufacturers can obtain significant benefits in energy consumption by controlling and optimizing the energy consumed on production lines.

Manufacturing processes
As part of the company’s digital transformation strategy, Groupe Renault’s IT, digital and engineering teams have developed this solution to capture data from its manufacturing facilities.
For each type of manufacturing process, data is collected and structured in a standardized way, making it possible to address a variety of use cases in manufacturing, engineering, quality, CSR, logistics, and more. Today, this solution is deployed on a large scale at twenty-two Groupe Renault plants.
More than 7,500 pieces of equipment are already connected, with standardized data models representing more than 50 different manufacturing processes, from bolting to aluminum injection, car frame welding, machining, painting and stamping, in addition to the new manufacturing processes for electric motors and batteries.
Edge to Cloud
The ID@scale service benefits from Atos’ Edge to Cloud offering, which enables real-time analysis of large volumes of complex industrial data while securing it from Edge to Cloud platforms, as well as optimizing model inference more complex artificial intelligence systems thanks to its range of Bull Sequana Edge servers.
