The Congress & EXPO ASLAN 2022 closes its doors with good attendance figures and having exceeded the expectations of an event that returned to face-to-face events. With all the exhibition space complete one month before the opening, this year registrations have increased by 9% and sponsors by 53% compared to the 2020 edition. These numbers demonstrate the interest aroused by the technology sector and digital transformation in companies and organizations of all areas, sectors and sizes.
The @aslan Association, which brings together the digital innovation industry in our country, is already working on the next edition to be held in Madrid on March 22 and 23, 2023. The Congress & EXPO ASLAN 2022 has become an annual reference event for the dissemination of technological innovation and digitization as a tool for recovery, competitiveness and resilience of companies.
Digitization for a prosperous future
Precisely, during the opening ceremony, both Nadia Calviño, First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation of the Government of Spain – who has participated virtually -, as well as the president of the Association @aslan, Ricardo Maté, and Fernando de Pablo, General Director of the Digital Office in the Madrid City Council, have pointed out the key role of digitization and the ICT industry for the reactivation of the country’s economy and the improvement of services to citizens.
The Congress & EXPO ASLAN 2022 has become an annual reference event for the dissemination of technological innovation
“This meeting has as its motto Digitization is Future and it is a perfectly chosen motto. Because the future has to be digital. This accelerated digital transformation as a result of the pandemic is a lever to create quality employment, increase business productivity, and thereby increase economic growth and prosperity in the future”, Nadia Calviño commented that she ended by wishing the ICT professionals gathered at ASLAN 2022 a very productive participation and ”continue working to make digitization one of the vectors for a more prosperous, sustainable and fair future“.
Fernando de Pablo, General Director of the Digital Office at the Madrid City Council, has highlighted technology as a key lever to make a more efficient city council and a more attractive and competitive city: “It is an absolute satisfaction to see the desire we have to advance in technology. We see the importance of the accelerated and sad digital transformation that we have had due to the pandemic, and the possibilities that digitization offers for the country and for the future, for the present. To advance in Spain, cooperation between all sectors is essential, first with institutional loyalty between all public administrations if we want to provide services to citizens”.
For his part, Ricardo Maté has emphasized the growth experienced by the @aslan Association in recent years and the figures of a Congress that in its 2022 edition has reached full capacity at various times: “This year’s Congress has record figures, both in terms of attendance and sponsors – we have grown by 50% -, we have more than 100 exhibitors and as an association we continue to grow. We are now 167 associates and we represent the entire ICT sector. A survey of our associates shows that we employ more than 50,000 people and generate more than 20,000 million euros of business. We try to be the integrating agent between the ICT industry, companies and public administration, and bring innovation and value to this sector“.
Focus on cybersecurity, networks, cloud, infrastructure, data and workplace
This year the Congress has incorporated 10 rooms or areas of knowledge that have allowed both to learn first-hand about the latest trends in technology for digital transformation, as well as the projects and use cases on which public administrations and companies in the sector are working private.
Focusing on the five topics of the event: Data Management, Cybersecurity, Digital Workspace, Cloud Datacenter and Intelligent Networks, almost 200 speakers from both public institutions (Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation , Generalitat de Catalunya, Community of Madrid, Ministry of Finance and Public Function, among others), as well as private companies (Heineken, Airbus, Procter & Gamble, Tendam Fashion Group or Cepsa, among others).
One of the spaces with the highest attendance was the Cybersecurity room for SMEs, one of the novelties this year. In fact, more than 60% of those registered declared their interest in computer security solutions before the congress.
On the other hand, as is tradition, the @aslan Award ceremony for Leadership in Digital Transformation and Digitization in Public Administration was held within the framework of the congress. This year, projects aligned with the objectives of the Next Generation EU Funds were highlighted, and focused on the digital job, cybersecurity or integration with public services from the cloud.
