‘The paper house: Korea’: New trailer with the Professor, Tokyo and a union between the two Koreas

‘The paper house’ has become one of the most popular series on Netflix worldwide, reaching far beyond Spain. After finishing the second volume of episodes of the fifth season, the actors said goodbye to the series definitively, although a spin-off of the Berlin character starring Pedro Alonso has been confirmed. However, on the other side of the world something big is also brewing. The successful Netflix series will have a Korean remake and we already have a new trailer for it.
‘The paper house: Korea’, directed by Kim Hong-sun and written by Ryu Yong-jae, released a small teaser showing the main cast of actors with red suits identical to those of the Spanish series and new Korean Hahoetal masks that they will wear instead of Dalí’s. Now, Netflix has released another trailer in which the new Professor explains in voiceover how the two Koreas came together and formed an economic alliance with a new common currency, “but the rich got richer”. The Professor, now played by the antagonist of ‘Oldboy’ Yoo Ji-Tae, tells us that they are going to carry out “the heist of history”.
We can also take a better look at the rest of the characters, especially to the new Tokyo, played by Neon Jong-seo (‘Burning’), who ends the trailer with the phrase “Let’s do bad things”. Then we have Park Hae-soo (‘The Squid Game’) as Berlin, Lee Hyun-woo as Rio, Jang Yoon-ju as Nairobi, Kim Ji-hoon as Helsinki, Lee Con-jong as Moscow, Kim Ji- Hun as Denver and Lee Gyoo-ho as Oslo. On the other hand, we will have the inspector See Woo-jin, played by Kim Yunjin.
“Welcome to Capitalism”
The original name that has received the title in Korea is ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’. Joint Economic Area refers to the new space that limits the two Koreas and where the “peerless heist” that advances us the teaser. The sense of togetherness is seen in the fact that it appears that the robbers will be from both South and North Korea. Similarly, the security forces of both nations will also have to unite to neutralize the thieves. Despite being a remake, it seems that the context of the story will be very different.
