We come to critical moments. ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ opens in theaters next Friday, May 6 and, as always with Marvel movies, the last countdown days are a minefield. On Monday, May 2, the world premiere of the film will take place in Los Angeles, and between Monday and Tuesday the press screenings for critics will take place.
Nevertheless, on Sunday a filtered scene with important details of the plot was already circulating on social networks. James Gunn, director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, reacted to the leak by sharing a scene from the Avengers musical of ‘Hawkeye’ and the phrase “Who Leaked This ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Footage? That’s Not Right”attempting to divert attention from the alleged actual footage of the Sam Raimi film.

But if pirate scenes have begun to appear on the Internet, it is best to prepare to avoid them these few days that remain before the premiere. The most effective option would be to silence the official hashtags on Twitter (#DoctorStrange, #EnElMultiversoDeLaLocura, #MultiverseOfMadness and #DoctorStrange2), as well as terms related to the film, such as Wanda, Scarlet Witch or Illuminati. To do this, we have to go to “Settings and privacy” in the social network, enter “Privacy and security” and then “Mute and block”. In “Muted Words” we can include each hashtag and word that we don’t want to appear on our timeline until we see the movie in theaters. Another option is to leave social networks until you go to the movies, but perhaps it is too long and the temptation is too strong.
Leaks are inevitable
Kevin Feige, creative chief of Marvel Studios, recently spoke about the leaks, stating that they are, like Thanos, inevitable: “The unfortunate truth is that we can’t avoid them, so we have to make sure that the experience itself works regardless of what’s leaked or not.. We try to do the best job we can and I think people are getting really good at not sharing, if someone steals something don’t share it because it potentially spoils the experience. But in a lot of ways ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ proved that the experience wasn’t cheapened, so we’re going to keep doing the best we can. The most important thing is to offer a movie or a series that works beyond what you know before going to see it“.
